[Letter] 1876 Aug. 18, Asheville, [N.C.] to "Bro [John A.] Broadus" / Wm. Williams. 1876.

Williams tells Broadus about his financial affairs and says "I am glad you wrote to Toy about the Library. I think it best that at the proper time you state my resignation and make permanent arrangements ... My account as Librarian I will send in when I can feel strong enough to make it out. It is a long one & will give me some labor." He hopes to able "to renew my regular work a year from now." He reports slow progress in regaining his health, "though I have no good reason as yet to believe that any impression for the better has been made upon the lungs."
